Why did you decide to volunteer with Kent State after graduating?
I appreciate the opportunity to speak with others and be a part of providing them with something they have a need for. It is a humbling experience that inspires me to do more because I see the joy my service brings to the individuals I interact with.
What are your favorite memories at Kent State?
My favorite memories at KSU were the relationships I established through my involvement with campus life. I am a member of the 2005 S.T.A.R.S. Program, which gave me my establishment to campus life and instilled a sense of pride for my culture. I was also a part of residence life as a Resident Assistant for the majority of time at Kent. It was this opportunity and many others that followed that gave me the opportunity to grow as a better individual.
What advice would you share with someone looking to volunteer with Kent State?
I believe volunteer work is an opportunity to encourage others through the gift of time and a smile. Albeit simple, it’s the simplest things that make the greatest difference in life. The opportunity to make someone else’s life a little brighter and happier is what service is all about!
