2015 Ohio Science Olympiad Workshop

Kent State Ashtabula will be hosting their 4th annual Ohio Science Olympiad workshop for middle and high school students to practice for their events.  With our instructors and professors, participants study science topics relating to events in which they will compete at the regional, state and national level.  This year’s event also includes a keynote speaker, Dr. Tara C. Smith, from the College of Public Health at .  Her speech, titled “Ebola and Emerging Diseases: Why we’ll always have pandemics,” will begin at 11:00 AM.  The event begins at 9:00 AM and ends at 1:50 PM.  For more information, contact Gary Misich, Academic Lab Manager, at 440-964-4561 or gmisich@kent.edu.

On Friday, April 17, volunteers at Kent State Ashtabula will help build raised garden boxes for a new residential gardening program at Homesafe on campus (3300 Lake Road West, Ashtabula). Projects may include cutting, nailing, sanding and painting.

William (Bill) Ayres IV, Ph.D. “It’s a wonderful occasion and an inspiring evening to gather as a campus community to celebrate their achievements and accomplishments, as well as the bright futures they’re stepping into.”
