RUOXIN XIONG | ASSISTANT PROFESSOR, Construction Management
Ruoxin Xiong received his Ph.D. from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. His research primarily focuses on understanding human-system dynamics using advanced data capture and processing technologies and developing risk-aware approaches in construction and infrastructure operations. His work spans various critical systems, including industrialized construction, airport operations, and bridge management.
LAURE NOLTE | Schidlowski Emerging Faculty Fellow
Laure Nolte is an architectural designer, biomaterials researcher, artist and educator. Her work spans from the planetary scale to the molecular scale, exploring multi-faceted relationships at the interface of material behavior and human behavior. Laure has taught at Dalhousie University, guest lectured at the University of Washington and has worked professionally at Habit Studio in Halifax, NS and Olson Kundig in Seattle, WA.
Laure received her Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Architecture from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Concordia University in Montreal. Her thesis research, On Light and Matter, was funded by the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada. Her writing has been featured in Paprika! and Canadian Architect and her design work has been exhibited across Canada.
ANTONIO SANMARTÍN GABÁS | Visiting Scholar
Antonio Sanmartín Gabás is an educator and architect. Currently a Ph.D. scholar at the Universidad de Alicante (Spain), Sanmartín earned Masters of Architecture degrees from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and New York University at Buffalo, where he was a Fulbright Scholar. He holds a degree and license in Architecture and Urban planning from Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona-Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya (ETSAB-UPC).
Sanmartín is aZCÓN Architectures S.L.P. founder, and author of several international projects such as Tembo BCN Suites in Barcelona and the Gonja Savannah region Assembly and Community Palace in Ghana. Is also founder of MaZKs aZCON–kOCHER-mINDER Architectures based in Barcelona and Thun, Switzerland. Also co-founder and co-director of aSZ arquitectes with Elena Cánovas.
