The Associate Degree in Nursing (A.D.N.) program, offered at 4 regional campuses, provides a dynamic, hands-on education designed to prepare students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to succeed as registered nurses in diverse healthcare settings. Through a combination of rigorous coursework and extensive clinical experiences, students learn from experienced faculty who are committed to fostering student success and quality patient care.
Focused on meeting the demands of today’s healthcare environment, the program emphasizes patient-centered care, critical thinking, and compassionate practice. Strong partnerships with hospitals and healthcare facilities allow students to gain real-world experience and practical skills that prepare them for licensure and employment
Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

Pathways to Becoming a Registered Nurse
Students in the ADN program are able to take advantage of the Kent State Regional Campus system first by taking prerequisite courses in either in-person or online formats to fit your schedule and then on to a seamless pathway to advanced degrees. Students can complete the associate degree in nursing before transitioning into the bachelor’s, master’s or ultimately doctoral programs – ALL THROUGH KENT STATE! The flexibility of the program allows you to focus solely on your studies as a traditional student or to continue working as an LPN or paramedic while you learn. The availability of course offerings, low regional campus tuition rates and four campuses to choose from gets you to becoming a registered nurse and onto your next career path quicker!
