Salem Honor Students Offer PB&J Sandwiches to Local Agency

By making several peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, Honor Club students on the Kent State Salem helped answer a call for help from a local service organization.

Kris Harrington, an associate lecturer of English, serves as the coordinator of the honors program and the honors committee chair at Kent State Salem. She explained that one of the honors students, Jennifer Tedrow, saw a social media post from Clothed in Righteousness asking for donations of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.

Honor student Haley Niemi participated in the project to benefit Clothed in Righteousness.

“The students thought this project would be a good fit for the Honors Club because they enjoy working together on community services activities and it gives them a chance to connect with each other during their busy semesters,” Harrington said.

Clothed in Righteousness is a homeless outreach ministry in Alliance that keeps a blessing box on its doorstep for individuals who need food after the agency is closed.
