Amanda Bevington for Homecoming Court

Amanda Bevington, senior communication studies major, was recently nominated for Homecoming court. Homecoming court members are sponsored by student organizations and are chosen to represent during the Flashes football game on Oct. 3 against the Miami University Redhawks.

Bevington has always dreamed of being on Homecoming court. She said that receiving this honor is a demonstration of her pride and honors everything that she does with “passion and love” at her beloved university.

She has been able to  demonstrate this passion and love in her many extracurricular activities, which Bevington says helped her get on the court. She has been a Flashguide orientation leader, a resident assistant for two years, President of Kent State Student Ambassadors, National Residence Hall Honorary, Senator in the Undergraduate Student Government, a member of Chi Omega and more. Her communication skills – learned through courses such as interpersonal communication – helped her with the interviewing process as well.

Bevington will keep her academic momentum going by staying involved with and dedicated to . 

“My Kent State pride will never die,” Bevington said. 

After she graduates Bevington plans to travel, and she aspires to being a tour guide in Europe. Also, she says she would like working on a college campus for service learning or study abroad programs where she can coordinate community service and coordinate study abroad opportunities.
