The Nature Safaris

Costa Rica has long been at the top of the worlds list of leading Eco destinations. Located as the narrow connections between two continents and bounded on each side by an ocean, this little country became home to all of the birds and animals that wandered in search of the right spot. They are still here. When Christopher Columbus anchored offshore, he correctly named it Costa Rica, "The Rich Coast" to describe the lushness of the Caribbean Coast and its diversity. Our lodge, bordering the Caribbean Sea and an inland lagoon, capitalizes on this natural phenomenon and provides us access to all of the mysterious rivers of Tortuguro National Park---the crown Jewel of the thirty nine National Parks in this little country.

Our itinerary for this Safari is designed to immerse you in the wonders of the many Eco Systems while still giving you an active part in exploring the best of Costa Rica. You will begin your trip with an exciting whitewater rafting trip on one of the tumbling rivers that descend from the mountain rib that divides the Caribbean Sea from the Pacific Ocean. Safe River Runners will guide you through Class three and four rapids. Your days at the Jungle Lodge will include a visit to a Jungle Village, Alligator Spotting excursions and daily Sightseeing Boat Safaris into the animal and bird filled rivers of the Caribbean Jungle. You will explore the famous Nesting Beaches of Tortuguero's Green, Hawksbill, Leatherback and loggerhead Turtles and you can kayak into the silent world of little visited lagoons. And you may even elect to try a morning of fishing in a jungle river. Howler monkeys will greet you as you return from each days Safari.

On your fifth, day, you will join an aerial harness tram for an exciting tour above the Cloud Forest before heading to Arenal Volcano and a stay at a marvelous mountain resort. Daily and nighttime eruptions punctuate the air as you relax in the hot pools and garden setting of this property at the base of a Volcano known as "Vulcan Arenal" This relaxing two days is designed to allow you to unwind from the activity of the prior days and enjoy the memories you have earned. For your last day, your guide will take you on a visit to an Artisan community that features coffees, art and woodworking as you travel to your last night hotel stay in San Jose. This is a wonderful vacation trip in a safe and friendly Eco Rich world.
