Submit an Abstract

Submit your abstract for a chance to present your research at the Kent State Exercise and Sport Science Symposium.

We invite undergraduate and graduate students to submit abstracts for poster or oral presentations.

Presentations from all stages of the research process will be accepted and considered for awards. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Literature Reviews
  • Pilot Data
  • Proposals
  • Completed Projects

Additionally, all areas of exercise science research are welcome, including but not limited to:

  • Physiology
  • Biomechanics
  • Motor Control
  • Exercise Psychology
  • Sports Performance
  • Clinical Exercise Physiology
  • Nutrition

Abstract Guidelines:

  • Format: Please submit your abstract in a clear and concise format, following the guidelines below:
    • Title: Concise and informative (200 characters)
    • Author(s): Name(s), Affiliation(s)
    • Introduction: Briefly state the research problem and its significance
    • Methods: Outline the research design, participants, procedures, and data analysis techniques
    • Results: Summarize the key findings
    • Conclusion/Practical Application: Interpret the results and draw conclusions
    • **If submitting a research proposal, include your anticipated results and practical application of your proposed project.
    • Abstracts will be limited to 3500 characters
      • No tables or figures will be allowed
  • Submission: Please submit your abstract through this link by February 14, at 11:59 pm.
  • Presentation Format: Indicate your preferred presentation format (poster or oral presentation) in your submission.
  • Abstract decisions: Decisions for acceptance and format will be made by February 19.

Presenters will have the opportunity to:

  • Share their research with a diverse audience of peers and professionals.
  • Network with other researchers and potential employers.
  • Gain valuable feedback on their work.
