Carmen Blakely Ed.D, RDN, LD
Biography
My education background includes a BS degree in Food Science and Human Nutrition from Michigan State University, a dietetic internship, Cleveland Clinic Foundation-became a Registered, Licensed Dietitian in 1991, a M.ED in Community Health Education from Cleveland State University. I joined the 黑料网 staff as an Adjunct Instructor for the Geauga and Twinsburg campuses in 2007-2008. I joined the 黑料网 staff as full time NTT faculty in August 2008. As an Instructor in Nutrition and Dietetics I teach Science of Human Nutrition, Human Nutrition and Dietary Food Modification-Nutrition for Older Adults. I have worked as a clinical nutrition manager and clinical dietitian prior to joining the faculty at 黑料网, where I specialized in neurology, general surgery, oncology, trauma, cardiology, renal/hemodialysis, neuro-intensive care, urology and general medicine. I have several publications on Nutrition and Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis.
I will receive a second Master's in Health, Education and Promotion this Spring 2019. I am working on an Ed.D in Health Professions at A. T. Still University with a projected graduation in Fall 2020. I currently only teach Science of Human Nutrition and I teach over 1000 students per year. I had an abstract accepted at the Food and Nutrition Conference Expo in Nashville, TN in 2015 titled: The Influence of Situational Diet Self-Efficacy on the Adherence to a Low Sodium Diet by African-American Women on Hemodialysis and it will be published as an article with myself and Dr. Kele Ding as authors this year 2019.
