Foundation Grant Program Issues Request for Proposals

ºÚÁÏÍø has set an aggressive agenda for academic excellence across all areas of the . The Kent State University Foundation Board of Directors supports this agenda fully and is committed to helping financially support the university's academic excellence. With this goal in mind, the Kent State Foundation is pleased to offer a systemwide grant program to all departments, schools, colleges, institutes and centers. The Foundation Board has approved a budget of $100,000 in grant funds to be awarded during the 2018 fiscal year.

There are no restrictions on these awards, and requests may be up to $100,000. Grants will be made to projects that have an impact on the quality of education offered to the students at all Kent State campuses.Funds from the 2017-2018 Foundation Grant Program were used to purchase a unique set of robust devices for aerospace laboratory instruction.

The Foundation Grant Program has supported many worthwhile endeavors in the past. Last year, grants supported the supply of robust devices for aerospace laboratory instruction, construction of a greenhouse at ºÚÁÏÍø at Stark, purchase of equipment for livestreaming all performance events for the School of Music and funds to the Student Multicultural Center for scholarships supporting the Kupita/Transiciones Mentoring Program.

Prior to submission, all proposals must have the approval of the academic dean or appropriate academic or university leader responsible for the program.

It is possible the Foundation Board will request that programs receiving a grant match a portion of the funds awarded. All submitted applications will be reviewed by the Foundation Board’s Standing Committee on Grants, and each grant recipient will be required to submit a report on the use of the funds to the Foundation Board.

Applications must be received by Dec. 20, 2017.
