Golden Flashes Continue Streak of Academic Excellence

With the spring semester in the books, 黑料网 has proven its commitment to academic excellence with student-athletes recording a spring term grade point average (GPA) of 3.106.

Thanks in part to the 43 student-athletes with a perfect 4.0 GPA, the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics recorded its 11th-consecutive term of 3.0+ cumulative department GPA (3.160) and it 13th-consecutive 3.0+ spring-term GPA (3.106).

Nearly two-thirds of Kent State student-athletes (244) posted a term GPA of 3.0 or higher, while 46 percent had a 3.4 or higher.

Twelve teams had both their term and cumulative GPA over 3.0, while eight teams had both cumulative and term GPA over 3.4.

"Each year, our student-athletes reach new academic heights," says Angie Hull, director of Student-Athlete Academic Services. "We are thrilled to celebrate their success not only on the playing field, but in the classroom. The tireless efforts of our student-athlete academic services staff, as well as our coaches and administration, helps to cultivate the supportive academic culture we enjoy here at Kent State."

Women's golf logged the highest GPA of all teams (3.670), its highest spring term GPA in program history with three student-athletes scoring a perfect 4.0. Volleyball had the second-highest team GPA and its second-highest spring term GPA in program history.

Field hockey also turned in its second-highest spring term GPA in program history (3.494) alongside women's track and field registering a 3.437 spring term GPA (second-highest in program history).

Football finished with 19 student-athletes earning a 3.4 or higher this semester, including two on the President's List (4.0) alongside six from softball, four from men's track and field, and two from men's basketball.

Five student-athletes found themselves on the Dean's List and two on the President's List (4.0) from women's basketball.

Teams with a 3.4 or higher term GPA consisted of 44 percent of the baseball team, 13 student-athletes from gymnastics and 10 from wrestling.

Men's golf posted its ninth-consecutive semester of a 3.0 GPA.
