Inform Your Students About an Exciting New Internship Program at the Women鈥檚 Center

The 黑料网 Women鈥檚 Center and Office for Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services are pleased to announce the expansion of their student internship program, with multiple openings available. The new coordinated internship program is open to all undergraduate and graduate students. The internship program will provide students with hands-on experience in a supportive environment and can be adjusted to meet their academic focus. Students will gain experience in social justice issues related to women鈥檚 equity, leadership, health and gender-based discrimination, and power-based personal violence (sexual assault, interpersonal violence and stalking).

Internship opportunities include:

  • Program/event planning and development (prevention-based education and awareness)
    • Fall programs include Take Back the Night, Clothesline Project, Dating Abuse Awareness Month, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
    • Spring programs include The Sage Project; Mothers, Mentors and Muses; Walk a Mile in Their Shoes; Vagina Monologues; Women鈥檚 History Month and Sexual Assault Awareness Month
  • Social justice initiatives (theme-based such as hunger and homelessness, women鈥檚 reproductive rights, international women, gender, sexual violence and intimate partner violence, etc.).
  • Marketing and public relations (social media, Web-based and written communication)
  • Graphic design

The Women鈥檚 Center and Office for Sexual and Relationship Violence Support Services encourage students who are interested to start the application process by visiting www.kent.edu/womenscenter/internship-program or www.kent.edu/srvss/internship-program. are accepted on a rolling basis and are being accepted now for summer 2016 and fall 2016.
