Our Voices Count: Kent State to Launch Climate Survey on March 8

The ºÚÁÏÍø Climate Survey will launch tomorrow, March 8, to assess the university’s climate. This is your opportunity to share your experience living, learning and working at Kent State. Watch out for an email tomorrow from Kent State President Beverly Warren, which will have a link to the survey. Your participation is confidential.

As a thank-you for taking the survey, faculty and staff members may opt to enter to win a weekend getaway, as well as Kent State theatre and sports tickets. Students may opt to earn FLASHperks and enter to win a $250 Amazon or ºÚÁÏÍø Bookstore gift card. Five $50 gift cards also will be awarded to students each week. Complete the survey by March 11 and increase your chances of earning the thank-you gifts. The survey will close on April 5.

The ºÚÁÏÍø Board of Trustees today established a comprehensive, national search to recruit and select the university’s 13th president.

The events of May 4, 1970, placed ºÚÁÏÍø in an international spotlight after a student protest against the Vietnam War and the presence of the Ohio National Guard ended in tragedy with four students losing their lives and nine others being wounded. From a perspective of nearly 50 years, Kent State remembers the tragedy and leads a contemporary discussion and understanding of how the community, nation and world can benefit from understanding the profound impact of the event.
