Business Leadership Training (BLT) is a new guest speaker series and a dynamic networking opportunity for the Twinsburg community. This outreach program is organized through a partnership between Twinsburg Academic Center and the Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce. Free and open to all local business representatives, BLT also serves to familiarize the public to the recent name change of the Kent State regional campus (formerly the Regional Academic Center), which now identifies itself with the city of Twinsburg.
“This new leadership development program is designed for anyone at any point in their career,” says Amy Murfello, Marketing & Community Engagement Manager at Kent State Geauga and Twinsburg Academic Center. “If registrants attend all five remaining sessions in the series, they will receive a certificate of completion. This is a perfect program for those looking to gain information on topics that experienced or emerging leaders face.”
Those who participate in the upcoming BLT sessions over the year will be able to leverage what they have learned in 2020 to set new leadership goals and objectives in 2021, Murfello adds.
Each BLT event is held monthly at Twinsburg Academic Center, 2745 Creekside Drive. Networking begins at 7:30 a.m., including a light breakfast. The hour-long speaker presentation begins at 8 a.m. Seating is limited, so preregistration is encouraged at twinsburgchamber.com or by calling Chamber President Angelo Carcioppolo at 330-963-6249.
"The Twinsburg Chamber of Commerce is excited to expand its relationship with Kent State and the Twinsburg Academic Center in 2020,” Carcioppolo says. “We feel the BLT series will be a great opportunity for our members to get a great array of valuable and new information for their businesses that they cannot find anywhere else around.”
The first speaker in the BLT series was Ned Parks with Aegis 360 Consulting, who focused on Multi-Generations in the Workplace on January 28.
The next BLT presentation will be Tuesday, March 12, 2020. Two Kent State Twinsburg Academic Center and Geauga Campus faculty members will speak on the topic of Mindful Leadership. Stay tuned for upcoming details and register by March 6. Upcoming workshop topics will include LGBTQ in the Workplace, Leadership Coaching and Development, and Goal-Setting.
This new Business Leadership Training program reflects the TAC’s and the Chamber’s shared commitment to dynamic leadership within the city of Twinsburg. Murfello comments, “It also provides the Twinsburg Academic Center with a perfect opportunity to reintroduce ourselves to the community.”
Carcioppolo adds, ”The Chamber of Commerce would like to express how lucky we feel to have the regional campus go through its name change to the Twinsburg Academic Center and represent our community. The Twinsburg Academic Center has set the standard for what a community partner and campus location should look like, and our businesses in the area are fortunate to have them right around the corner.”
