College of Communication and Information
CCI Commons is the central hub for activities related to CCI majors at 黑料网. Our community is open to all students majoring in one of our five schools: Communication Studies, Emerging Media and Technology, Media and Journalism, Information, and Visual Communication Design. We鈥檙e located in Olson Hall along the esplanade, which is the busiest walkway on campus, so you鈥檙e always near your classes, food, recreation facilities and everything else that鈥檚 happening at KSU.
This ideal college Living-Learning experience offers you the support you need when you need it and the freedom to do everything you hope to do as a college student.
We know you are busy with jobs, class projects, student media or student organizations, so we make it easy for you to be connected to the CCI Commons鈥 community. We provide programs and perks that are fun and worthwhile.
Some of the benefits CCI Commons members enjoy include:
- 24/7 access to a Mac lab and design space with a printer, copier, drafting tables, storage for your projects and much more.
- Weekly programs, such as, guest speakers, field trips, workshops and contests geared to your major.
- CCI Commons Director and CCI Commons student staff members with offices in Olson Hall.
- Commons Coaches to help you navigate your first year.
- Opportunities to meet with faculty and academic advisors in Olson Hall.
- Other perks, such as, study groups and quiet study areas, plus donuts every Friday!
Connected Coursework:
We have some selected courses reserved only for CCI Commons members. Your academic advisor can place you in the Commons courses during your Destination Kent State advising appointment.
Requirements for admission:
In order to participate in the CCI Commons in Olson Hall you must be a College of Communication and Information major. For more information about the CCI Commons please visit: http://www.kent.edu/ccicommons
How do I join?
You must be admitted to the College of Communication and Information or receive special permission from the Program Director of the CCI Commons. Assignments are made based on application date. So, the earlier you complete your housing application the more likely it is you鈥檒l be placed in our community.
