2021 Glauser School Concerto Competition Winners Announced

On Saturday, Dec. 4 the 黑料网 Orchestra hosted the final round of the Glauser School of Music Concerto Competition. An annual event, the competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate music students who won the preliminary round in their category. The winners will be featured on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022 during the KSU Orchestra concert at 3 p.m. that day. Complete results for the 2021 competition are below. Undergraduate Division
- Winner: William Baughman, Piano Concerto No. 1, 1st movement by Sergei Rachmaninoff
- Runner-up: Stephen Stavnicky, Trumpet Concerto by Alexander Grigori Arutiunian
- Second Runner-up: Manuel Gomez, 鈥淔rohe Hirten, eilt, ach eilet鈥 from Christmas Oratorio by J. S. Bach
Graduate Division
- Co-winner: Audrey Nolte, 鈥淗ear, ye, Israel鈥 from Elijah by Felix Mendelssohn
- Co-winner: David Mendieta (violin), Zigeunerweisen by Pablo de Sarasate
- Runner-up: Alex Numpaque, Cello Concerto in D major by Franz Joseph Haydn
- Second Runner-up: Paul Converse, Introduction, Theme and Variations for Oboe and Orchestra by Johann Nepomuk Hummel
