According to Surveys, Students, Faculty, and Staff are Looking for More Dining Facilities in the Front and Central Campus Areas
A June 2017 survey of students revealed how students use student life facilities and their ideas for improvements. On-campus students dominate dining options, but there is an opportunity to grow Kent State’s dining market by capturing more commuter students through convenient, value-driven options.
Eastway Center is most popular dining venue on campus, closely followed by the Kent Student Center, both of which are convenient dining locations to the academic core. Students indicated that location and convenience are their most important decision factors when deciding where to eat.
There is a deficit of campus dining in the front campus. While the front and central campus areas are the locations of significant campus activity, particularly midday, there are no food options within a convenient 3-minute walk. When asked when additional dining should be offered, students suggested the University Library, Bowman Hall, Old Art Building, and the Business Administration Building.
Is there a need for relocated or additional dining options in the front campus area?
