June 2022 Social Media Recap

We hope you are having a great summer, Golden Flashes! This June, our social media content kicked off the summer season, welcomed new students and celebrated Kent State’s support for veteran and military students. To recap, here are some of our top-performing posts:

Instagram: 

Our top-performing post kicked us off on the official first day of summer, when we posted a timelapse of campus transitioning from spring to summer. Our followers watched as the snow fall turned into a bright sunny day! The post was viewed 7,832 times and received 1,629 likes. Facebook: 

In June, our followers engaged the most with an announcement from Kent State President Todd Diacon, as he encouraged us to lead by example. 

 

 

Another top performer on Facebook was our post about the establishment of a Community Benefit Company in Rwanda, Africa.

 

 

Twitter: 

Our Twitter followers also enjoyed watching our campus transition from spring to summer. 

 

 

Another top-performing tweet celebrated Kent State receiving Ohio’s new Collegiate Purple Star designation for its support for veteran and military students. 

 

 

TikTok: 

The “tallest” building in Portage county was featured as our highest-performing TikTok of the month. Our followers clearly enjoyed that we joined this trend, as this post received more than 16,000 views and 1,400 likes! 

 

One of our favorite fun facts about ⚡️

 

Another TikTok that performed well was our video that went along with the “multiverse is real; we want to be a Golden Flash in every dimension” trend!

 

It’s new student orientation season and we can’t wait to meet the class of 2026.
