A special thanks to our student employees

Happy Student Employee Appreciation Week!

Student employees are a vital part of our Kent State community. Did you know that Kent State has more than 8,000 on-campus jobs?

When it comes to the University Communications and Marketing (UCM) Social Team, we have three amazing student assistants who have provided so much creativity, hard work and dedication to our unit and beyond.

Here’s a look at just a few of the projects that they have brought to life.

Rachel is the veteran of the social team, who has been with us since her sophomore year! She has just a few weeks left with us before graduating this spring. Rachel has added so much talent to this team, including her insightful recommendations for our social media content and market research. But, before we say our bittersweet goodbyes, here is a look back at just a few examples of her work:

Olivia Potunas

Olivia joined the UCM Social Team in spring 2019. Olivia has brought a ton of creativity, branding recommendations and design ideas to the table. She’s not only produced quite a few of the graphics you’ve seen on our social media channels, but she has also shared some design tips and tricks on the social media blog!

Here’s a look at some of the content that Olivia has created:

Natalie has been with the UCM Social Team since fall 2020. Like a lot of our university’s student employees, her new on-campus job was a little different than usual because it began as a remote position. Despite the challenges of not only starting a new job, but also doing so in a completely new environment, Natalie hit the ground running and added such great energy, content ideas and analytics evaluations to the team right away.

Here are a few of the projects Natalie has taken the lead on:

These are just a few of the examples that you’ve seen shared on the Kent State’s social media channels. There is so much more strategy, research, reporting and other items that goes on behind the scenes. We are so grateful for our student assistants -- past and present -- who have made our team so great!

Kent State may be honoring student employees this week, but everyone values your contributions all year long!
