Jeanne Semilia
Biography
Jeanne Semilia, Special Assistant of Academic Diversity Outreach in University College, provides administrative support to the Director and performs related duties as assigned. She assists in daily office operations, monitors and prepares reports related to the budget, processes documents for new hires, and handles approvals for student worker timesheets. Her involvement with special departmental projects and initiatives include Academic Advantage, Summer Advantage, Diversity & Scholarship Celebration, as well as Supplemental Aid for students needing assistance with books, tuition, or living expenses. In the past, Jeanne has served on search committees and currently serves on the Events Committee in University College. She is also a campus Wellness Ambassador, where she encourages fellow employees at the local level to participate in wellness programs and activities. Jeanne came to Kent State from The University of Akron, where she worked for 10 years with students ranging from underprepared to those in a doctoral program. Her favorite part of the job has always been helping students achieve their goals, as well as making sure they have a good college experience.
