Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training and Certification

A highly trained professional, skilled in continuous improvement tools and techniques with the understanding of the concepts of Lean and Six Sigma, can enhance an organization’s processes, assist in increasing productivity, support a continuous improvement culture and help an organization function at peak efficiency and accountability.

Kent State’s Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Training and Certification is a focused, intense program for continuous improvement change agents. These change agents will gain an understanding of, and skills in, the in-depth concepts, tools and techniques of Lean and Six Sigma.

The content of this program will cover the basic principles of Lean and Six Sigma and how these complementary approaches can be leveraged to improve manufacturing and transactional/service-related processes. The Green Belt training and certification introduces improvement and design methodologies and tools, including statistical analysis using Minitab software.

You will learn:

  • How to Build a Sustainable Culture and Infrastructure of Continuous Improvement
  • The DMAIC Project Methodology
  • The Tools of Six Sigma, Lean and Theory of Constraints
  • How to Use Data to Effectively Make and Drive Decisions
  • The Skills to Guide Organizations to Gains in Productivity, Quality, Complexity, Cost and Throughput

The live, facilitator-led virtual training is delivered via the Zoom platform in 14, half-day sessions over approximately a one-month timeframe. Participants will engage in the learning with small-group activities, interactive group projects, simulations, case studies, videos, Think-Pair-Share interactions, storytelling, hands-on data exercises using Minitab software, and student-led real-world exercises, in additional to instructor-led discussions.
