KENT, Ohio - Serena Loftus, Ph.D., assistant professor of accounting at the Kent State Ambassador Crawford College of Business and Entrepreneurship, has been selected as a by Poets&Quants.
Loftus joined the college in Fall 2021 where she teaches Intermediate Accounting II. Prior to Kent State, Loftus taught Management Accounting at Tulane University, where she received the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching of Undergraduates Award in 2018. She is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). Loftus was recently featured by the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) as a Featured Faculty for her commitment to creating a sense of belonging, active learning strategies, and her strong desire to help every student be successful in her course and in their future careers.

In addition to excellence in teaching, Loftus has made valuable contributions to research in her field. Her research has been published in premier academic journals and featured by news outlets including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Workspan, Strategic Finance Magazine, and Investor Relations Magazine.
Loftus earned a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Washington Foster School of Business. She earned a Master’s in Professional Accounting, BA and BBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
