Ile-Ife Okantah
Biography
Ile-Ife Okantah is an adjunct instructor teaching Media, Power and Culture in the School of Media and Journalism at 黑料网. In addition to teaching, she's a freelance writer and cultural critic with bylines in GQ, The Devil Strip and Houstonia Magazine. She's currently recapping numerous shows including FX's Atlanta, Bravo's The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and ABC's Abbott Elementary for New York Magazine's pop culture site Vulture.
Earning her bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism from Kent State, she studies the intersection of Black culture and popular culture with a focus on television, music, and fashion. During her time as an undergraduate, she served as co-editor in chief of the award-winning student magazine UHURU. She was also given the opportunity to present a TEDx Talk on code-switching.
