Faculty Footprints

KSUCPM faculty are making strides both in and out of the classroom! We touched base with a few KSUCPM faculty members to see what they’re up to when they’re not shaping tomorrow’s docs…

 

  • Dr. Jacqueline Donovan, Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences (plug in headshot next to her bullet points)
    • Recently assumed the role of Director of the UH Foot & Ankle Surgical Residency Program, where Dr. Nick Butler also serves as faculty of the program The pair had their first fellow, Dr. Richard Park, KSUCPM Class of 2021, who will be completing the program in June of this year. Their research poster, will be presented at the ACFAS 83rd Scientific Conference in Phoenix this year, and is titled “Case Review: Rare Synovial Chondromatosis in 14 year-old Male”

  • Taught a fellowship course for Stryker Austin, TX, titled Stepping into Forefoot
  • Dr. Donovan, as well as KSUCPM Dean Dr. Allan Boike, serve on the ABFAS Review Committee. The committee meets ever April In Denver to review hundreds of cases for board certification 

 

  • Windy Award
  • Windy Cole, DPM, CWSP, Director of Wound Care Research
    • Dr. Cole, alongside Nina Kovolyan, KSUCPM Clinical Research Coordinator, took the silver medal for the patient activation category at the 2025 JWC Awards in the Patient Activation category in February! 
    • Served as a Guest Editor for the Fall 2024 Edition of Foot & Ankle Quarterly, alongside Dr. Nick Butler, who was a contributing author. 
    • Recently awarded a $70,000 research grant through Averitas Pharma, Inc. to study diabetic peripheral neuropathy at KSUCPM
