Douglas W. Ellison, Ph.D
Biography
Douglas W. Ellison is an assistant professor of Physical Education Teacher Education in the School of Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum Studies. He joined the faculty at 黑料网 in 2017. He previously earned National Board Certification while teaching physical education and health for 10 years in Charlotte, NC. Dr. Ellison obtained his BS in business education and physical education from Western Michigan University, MA in physical education from Wingate University, and PhD in Pedagogical Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
His teaching responsibilities include: Secondary Physical Education Methods; Introduction to Physical Education, Fitness, and Sport; Fitness Education; Assessment of Learning; Life Span and Motor Development
His scholarship explores the mechanisms that facilitate teacher sustainability in high-poverty schools. Additionally, Dr. Ellison examines equity-based trauma-informed practices in schools.
