Our Strategic Plan

In 2017, our college embarked on a strategic planning process to help us better tell our story both internally and externally. With a common focus and vision in mind, we have established our 2019-2024 Strategic Plan.

Janice Kroeger, a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, recently presented on a panel at the European Early Childhood Educational Research Association.

  • A space inside the Speech and Hearing Clinic has been renovated to serve as the new Sensory Wellbeing Space where neurodiverse students and their allies can find a welcoming and inclusive environment for gathering or study.

  • TLCS alumna Justine DeFrancesco penned a children's book to teach her students how to deal with emotions and build social skills in a post pandemic world.

  • Kent State students can stay fit and refine or learn new sport skills while developing and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The only prerequisite: Enrolling in any of the Physical Activity, Wellness and Sport (PWS) classes offered through the School of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Studies.

  • Michele McCombs, a second-grade teacher for Kent City Schools, believes the Becoming a Brave Teacher workshop came at just the right time for her to be that ‘teacher/leader’ who develops a support system of inclusiveness for the LGBTQ+ community.

  • For the past month, ºÚÁÏÍø has hosted 37 international graduate students as part of the Fulbright Pre-Academic Program, a monthlong immersion in American higher education and culture. The group, from 26 countries, arrived on the Kent Campus on July 21 and was scheduled to depart on Aug. 17 to begin their graduate programs at universities throughout the country.
