About Us

In the Division of Enrollment Management, we strive to do our very best to support all learners as they navigate the campus community to achieve their personal educational goals. It is our responsibility to know our students, to constantly search for ways to improve service, and be responsive to the changing needs of learners from across the ºÚÁÏÍø system.

Every member of the Enrollment Management team serves a purpose. Students rely on each of the Enrollment Management units to effectively serve their needs. The staff in Enrollment Management are dedicated to helping students pursue their passion and purpose.

Sean Broghammer

Sean Broghammer, Ph.D.

Sean Broghammer joined the Kent State community as the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, Admissions in March 2020. As of March 2022, Sean was appointed as the Vice President for Enrollment Management. He serves as ºÚÁÏÍø's chief enrollment strategist by being the key advisor to the president and provost on the impact of enrollment for the university. He also provides oversight on administrative and student support services and oversees the offices of Admission, Office of Scholarships and Student Financial Aid, Registrar, Transfer Center, Enrollment Operations and Administration, and the Financial, Billing and Enrollment Center. Sean serves on the President’s Cabinet and works closely with the provost on all academic matters that impact enrollment.

Prior to joining ºÚÁÏÍø, Dr. Broghammer served as the Interim Assistant Vice President of Strategic Enrollment at the University of Northern Colorado. In this role, Sean co-led the creation and implementation of the university’s first strategic enrollment plan to increase first year and transfer student enrollment, improve retention and graduation rates, and eliminate achievement gaps.

As a first-generation college student, Sean recognizes the importance of education, and the impact that a higher education has had on his life. Sean earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration, and his Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from Washington State University. He earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado.


 

Brenda Burke

Brenda provides leadership to the University Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid. The office is responsible for communicating information about scholarships and financial aid to students every academic year. The office assists students with the process of applying for and receiving scholarships, grants, work study and loans to cover the cost of attending school.

Brenda earned a Master of Education degree from Old Dominion University and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Radford University. She is grateful for her 34-year career in financial aid, including experience at institutions such as the University of Utah, Virginia Commonwealth and Virginia Tech. An avid dog lover, Brenda spends her spare time enjoying the outdoors, traveling, reading and testing new recipes.


 

Andrew Crawford, Ed.D.
Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, Student Services and Engagement

Andy is responsible for supporting our regional campuses with enrollment, academic and student-focused initiatives. He collaborates with stakeholders across the institution to design, execute and evaluate these strategic priorities ensuring a collaborative approach to supporting student success. Andy has a dual report to the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Vice President for Regional Campus Administration. He provides oversight and direction for a wide range of projects that support lifelong learning in our eight-campus system.

Dr. Crawford holds an Ed.D. in Education Leadership from Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Mich.; a Master of Education from Ohio University in Athens; and a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Andy and his wife Annie reside in Copley, Ohio with their three children Mary, Clark, and Ruth. In their free time, Andy and his wife enjoy endurance sports and competing in marathons.

 

 

Chris Dorsten

Chris Dorsten, M.Ed.
Associate Vice President, University Registrar, Enrollment Management

Chris provides leadership over the Office of the University Registrar. The Office of the University Registrar comprises of the areas of Academic Scheduling, Academic Records and Graduation, Credit Transfer, Graduation Planning System, Registration and Outgoing Transcripts, System Support and Compliance, and Reporting to State and Federal agencies. The registrar team diligently works to enhance the student experience to ensure each student can successfully meet their educational goals and objectives.

As a first-generation college student, Chris understands the significance higher education can have on student success. Chris has two associate degrees from Sinclair Community College, a bachelor’s degree from Park University and a master’s degree from Cleveland State University, and has completed coursework at the doctoral level. Chris has over twenty years’ experience in enrollment management and joined the Kent State team in May 2021.  In addition to his work responsibilities, Chris has served as President of the Ohio Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admission Officers, and currently serves as the Co-Chair for the LGBTQIA+ Caucus for the American Association of College Registrars and Admission Officers.

Collin Palmer
Associate Vice President, Office of Admissions

Collin provides leadership, oversight and management of the Office of Admissions and all of its functions. Collin is a key member of the enrollment management leadership team with an extensive background in enrollment management. He will closely partner with deans, faculty and staff to determine and enact policies and strategies to meet enrollment goals. As the past president of the Ohio Association for College Admission Counseling, he has worked alongside secondary school counselors and enrollment leaders to positively promote and improve access to higher education for students and families.

Collin earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in history and political science at The Ohio State University and his Master of Public Administration degree from ºÚÁÏÍø. Collin is currently enrolled in the doctoral program of education, Interprofessional Leadership at ºÚÁÏÍø.

 

Sue Veppert

Sue Veppert
Assistant to an Executive Officer

Sue serves as assistant to an executive officer.  In this role, Sue provides executive level support to the vice president, manages and maintains the schedule, coordinates meetings, arranges travel accomodations, and assists the enrollment management leadership team.

Sue joined ºÚÁÏÍø in July of 2007 as an administrative secretary in the Admissions Office and most recently held the business manager position in that office.  

As a first-generation student, Sue obtained her Associate of Business Administration and worked many years as a legal secretary and most recently held a paralegal position prior to joining the University.
