If you submitted your FAFSA and your Financial Aid Questions but were not offered financial aid by the end of April, then you may have an outstanding requirement that is preventing your account from being reviewed for financial aid eligibility.  Some issues include, but are not limited to:

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I submitted answers to the financial aid questions, but my financial aid isn’t offered.

A: Financial aid for 2025-2026 will be offered in the first week of April for students who have a valid FAFSA on file for 2025-2026 and meet all  to receive financial aid.  If your financial aid is not offered by the end of April, review your Financial Aid Dashboard to determine if you have any Unsatisfied Requirements on the Home tab and/or any Active Messages on the Notifications tab.

Q: What if I didn’t answer the financial aid questions?

A: Students who do not submit an answer to the Housing Plan question will have the food and housing components of their cost of attendance calculated based on institutional information available to the University Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid including housing application/charges, dependency status, residency, and class standing.

Students who do not submit an answer to the Summer Loan Request question will only have loans offered in the summer term if they are enrolled half-time or greater at the time financial aid is offered.

Good news – you can still submit your responses by following the steps above.  Your responses will be recorded, and your account will be updated accordingly.

Q: What if I submitted my answers online and changed my mind or need to make changes?

A: Students who need to change their responses to one or both of their Financial Aid Questions should return to FlashLine. Navigate to: Student - Finances - Scholarships & Financial Aid - Financial Aid Dashboard - Resources.

  • To update the housing plan response, submit the Housing Plan Form.
  • To update the summer direct loan response, submit the Summer Direct Loan Request Form.

Q: I don’t want to borrow Direct Loans.  How can I request that I stop receiving emails about Direct Loans?

A: If you do not wish to borrow Direct Loans in summer, you can submit a response of NO to the Summer Direct Loan question.  Once a response is received for that question, you will no longer receive email reminders.

If you do not wish to borrow Direct Loans at all, you can decline your loan offer in your Financial Aid Dashboard.
