Individual Honors Work
Individual Honors Work (HONR 20096/30096/40096) provides students an opportunity to complete independent study (1-4 credit hours) under the direction of a faculty member. The goal of this project is to provide students with an enriched educational experience in the major or other field of interest not typically covered in the standard curriculum.
Enrollment & Registration
Students must complete the Individual Honors Work contract. Students must have sophomore standing or higher and have completed a minimum of one Honors course prior to completing Individual Honors Work.
Faculty Responsibilities
Faculty members agreeing to supervise Individual Honors Work are responsible for ensuring that the work outlined in the contract reflects an investment of 15 hours of work for each credit hour of registration. Faculty are expected to hold regular meetings with students to discuss the development and progress of the independent study being completed and are required to submit a standard letter grade at the end of the semester of enrollment.
