Transitional Housing
Transitional Housing: What You Need to Know
Due to the high demand for on-campus housing, some students who submitted housing applications in mid-June or later may be assigned to Transitional Housing. This temporary arrangement ensures all students have a comfortable and secure space as they transition into campus life.
About Transitional Housing
Transitional Housing is located within residence halls, on student floors, in spaces normally used as study lounges. These spaces have been thoughtfully converted to include:
- Essential Furnishings: Student room furniture is moved into the space to ensure it meets the same standards as a traditional room.
- Enhanced Security: Door locks are reprogrammed to allow access only for the assigned residents, ensuring a safe and private environment.
Depending on the size of the converted space, two, three, or four students may be assigned to share the room.
What to Expect
The duration of a student鈥檚 stay in Transitional Housing can vary. As spaces become available in residence halls throughout August and the fall semester, our assignments team will work diligently to transition students to permanent rooms. While we aim to make these changes before move-in day or shortly thereafter, it鈥檚 possible that some students may remain in Transitional Housing through the semester.
