Dear Students, Faculty and Staff,
As we continue to listen, learn and navigate all that is happening in our communities, 黑料网 is using town hall forums as meaningful ways to engage and to develop actionable steps to shape a better future for all of our community members.
The next town hall session will focus on how to be an ally. This session will take place on June 18 at 5 p.m.

Though there are several articles and definitions, allies are generally conceived as dominant group members who work to end prejudice in their personal and professional lives, and relinquish social privileges conferred by their group status through their support of nondominant groups (, 1991 as quoted by Brown & Ostrove 2013).
We intend for this discussion to focus on ways to build authentic allyship and tools to empower each member within the Kent State community to stand up to forms of racial injustice that may present themselves in various forms.
If you have questions or thoughts to share prior to the discussion, please e-mail those to diversity@kent.edu.
Sincerely,
Lamar R. Hylton, Ph.D.
Vice President of Student Affairs
Amoaba Gooden, Ph.D.
Interim Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
