Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the event begins at 7:30 p.m. The concert is free and open to the public.

This will be a night of singing and praising, featuring contemporary gospel songs, such as It All Belongs to You, traditional gospel songs, such as Amazing Grace, a spiritual – Done Made My Vow, and the grand finale with former Kent State Gospel Choir members joining the choir in a performance of Total Praise.

The audience is invited to usher in the holiday season by joining the choir in a medley of Christmas carols.  The special guest choir is St. Ignatius High School Men’s Chorus, directed by Jason Falkofsky.

Founded in 1996 by Walker, the Kent State Gospel Choir has a reputation that extends locally, nationally and internationally. The choir is an upperdivision class in the School of Music at Kent State, and is made up of more than 50 members, including students, faculty, staff and members of the community. The choir also stands as one of the most diverse groups on campus, with members from various religions, ethnicities, races, sexual orientations, genders and majors.

Walker encourages the university community not to miss out on this joyful occasion.

“Bring a friend, family or community member and be blessed,” she says.
