at Stark to Break Ground for New Sciences Building

at Stark is responding to the current and future needs of sciences and health sciences disciplines by adding a state-of-the-art building that will feature educational technology

Pictured above is an architectural rendering of the new state-of-the-art Sciences building at  at Stark. at Stark is responding to the current and future needs of sciences and health sciences disciplines by adding a state-of-the-art building that will feature educational technology, as well as provide a platform for increased student research through hands-on education and active learning.

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Sciences building will be held on Wednesday, May 15, from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. at Kent State Stark on the walkway outside of Main Hall.

The new academic building, to be constructed by architecture firm Baxter Hodell Donnelly Preston Inc., will be Kent State Stark’s seventh major building on the 200-acre campus. It will be located adjacent to the existing Main Hall East Wing and connected by a bridge link at the second-floor level.

Continuing with Kent State Stark’s commitment to reduce the environmental impact of campus operations while promoting ecological sustainability, the Sciences building will achieve LEED® Gold Certification through the implementation of “green” architectural elements.
