"Project Runway" All*Star and Kent State grad celebrates launch with free fashion show

New York-based fashion designer and Kent State alumnus Suede will unveil his new SUEDEsays line of fabrics and patterns during a free fashion show on Feb. 2, in the Rockwell Hall Auditorium on the Kent Campus.New York-based fashion designer, Season 5 "Project Runway" contestant and graduate Suede will introduce his new SUEDEsays line of fabrics and patterns with a free fashion show Saturday, Feb. 2, in the Rockwell Hall Auditorium at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Suede, who also recently competed on “Project Runway All Stars” Season 2, will unveil his SUEDEsays line with 15 exclusive runway looks. The fashion show, presented in conjunction with Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, Simplicity, The Fashion School at and Springs Creative, will also involve current Kent State students — 11 of the 15 models in the show are Kent State students, and the Fashion Student Organization will provide assistance on the day of the show.

The event will include a free meet-and-greet between show times. Suede also will appear at the Hudson Jo-Ann store at 5381 Darrow Rd. on Friday, Feb. 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
