The Ohio International Consortium Donald N. Nelson Scholarship for Study Abroad for spring 2014 has been awarded to 黑料网 student Robert McGuire of Strongsville, Ohio, in the amount of $1,500. The scholarship was established in 2005 to honor Donald N. Nelson and his many contributions to international education. It is now awarded for fall and spring study abroad in order to help students cover the costs of an international education experience.
McGuire is currently a junior at Kent State pursuing a bachelor鈥檚 degree in French and international relations with a minor in Chinese. He will spend a semester as a study-abroad student at Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The Ohio International Consortium was established in 1991. Its purpose is to identify, develop and expand beneficial international relationships that might contribute to the enhancement of Ohio鈥檚 global profile and the international expertise and activities of the state鈥檚 public four-year universities. The current chair of the Ohio International Consortium is Rita Haider, director in the Center for International Programs and Activities at Shawnee State University.
