Spring 2018 Bowman Breakfast Celebrates 55 Years of Town-Gown Collaboration in Kent

For 55 years, leaders from ºÚÁÏÍø and the city of Kent have met over breakfast to foster successful collaboration between the university and the city.

The semi-annual Bowman Breakfast, which began in 1963, brings together leaders from Kent State and the city of Kent in a forum designed to advance community issues and strengthen the town-gown relationship.

The topic for this year’s spring Bowman Breakfast is “Town-Gown Relations – Working Together Makes It Work!â€

The event will take place Wednesday, April 4, in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. Doors open at 7 a.m., breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and the program follows from 8-9 a.m.

Featured speakers from the city are David Ruller, city manager; Jim Bowling, P.E., superintendent of engineering and deputy service director; and Mike Lewis, Kent Police lieutenant. Representing the university are Mark Polatajko, Ph.D., senior vice president for finance and administration; Tom Euclide, P.E., associate vice president for facilities planning and operations; and Dean Tondiglia, Kent State Police chief and director of public safety. Todd Kamenash, Kent State’s assistant dean of students and director of student conduct, will moderate the discussion.
