Kent State Formally Installs Beverly Warren

Members of the community were invited to attend the inauguration of Beverly Warren as the 12th president of the university on May 1 in the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center on the Kent Campus. A reception followed in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.

A week of activities and events leading up to the inauguration day celebrated student success and campus community achievements on Kent State’s eight campuses and the Regional Academic Center in Twinsburg. All events were free.

Events included the dedication of the Center for Undergraduate Excellence on April 28 and dedication of the Kent State . On April 30, there was a presidential tree planting at Manchester Field and a “Presidential Perspectives: A Discussion with Past and Present Kent State Presidents” that took place in the Kent Student Center Ballroom. The panel discussion, was moderated by CNN news anchor and Kent State alumna Carol Costello, featuring Warren and former Kent State presidents Michael Schwartz, Carol Cartwright and Lester Lefton.

Regional Campuses also hosted several events at their locations, including a barbeque for students and a tree planting in honor of Warren. U.S. News & World Report has once again confirmed ’s academic strengths with the university’s inclusion on several lists in the 2025 Best Colleges rankings. In the newly released rankings, Kent State continues to be recognized among the Top Public Schools in the nation.

The Board of Trustees welcomed the Class of 2028 during its regular quarterly meeting held Sept. 18 in Crawford Hall and congratulated the university administration for this year’s strong enrollment.

The Board of Trustees will hold its next regular business meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18. The Board will consider the recommendations of the standing committees, proposed personnel actions and new business.
