University photographer Bob Christy has seen it all in his 23 years with ºÚÁÏÍø.
Or, at least he thought he had.
That was until last July when Christy accompanied a handful of students studying in Rwanda on a trip they'll never forget – an authentic African safari.
Christy and the students spent more than six hours in ; the trip was near the end of the students' summer educational experience known as the Kigali Summer Institute, which explores the post-genocide reconstruction of Rwanda and issues related to peace and conflict in the context of the country’s history.
Kent State Today sat down with Christy to see his photos and learn more about this unique experience.
The summer course was developed and taught by Sarah Schmidt, Ph.D., an instructor in the School of Peace and Conflict Studies and assistant director of global education initiatives at ºÚÁÏÍø at Stark.
