Community Health Improvement Plan Meeting

Join the College of Public Health for a unique opportunity to participate in the Portage County Health District CHIP meeting with community partners as they implement our health improvement plan. Transportation is NOT provided.

The CHIP meeting is divided into three different sessions. Students can arrive at 9, 10 or 11 a.m. and stay for the whole meeting or just for a portion.

QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer) Suicide Prevention Training

QPR teaches the tools needed to recognize suicide risk and help with prevention. QPR Suicide Prevention Training focuses on educating people to see the warning signs of suicide, following the steps of Question, Persuade, and Refer.

This training is offered through a partnership featuring the Center for Public Policy and Health and Delta Omega: Epsilon Gamma Chapter. This training is made available at no cost to community members who work and/or live in Portage County through a mental health awareness training grant awarded to the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Portage County from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
