Catie Woodward is a third-year honors student from Canton, Ohio, majoring in nursing. Though she has had many other accomplishments in her time at Kent State, Catie’s most recent success was performing undergraduate research in the nursing program.
U.S. News & World Report ranks ºÚÁÏÍø in the top 20 Best Library and Information Studies Programs in the country in its 2022 edition of Best Graduate Schools. Overall, Kent State is recognized in 12 new national rankings in the 2022 edition of Best Graduate Schools, including three specialty rankings.
ºÚÁÏÍø’s College of Nursing and Cleveland Clinic Akron General are joining forces to offer an adult/adolescent Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) certificate program beginning this fall. This collaborative one-year program was created to address the regional and national shortage of SANE-certified registered nurses, especially in rural areas.
In the course Community Health Nursing, Taryn Burhanna’s students are required to complete 60 clinical hours and eight laboratory simulation hours. Burhanna, community health nursing coordinator, wanted to ensure students in this course could get their hours and gain real-life experience by tapping into coronavirus relief efforts on campus.
