Funded by the Mathematical Association of America’s Tensor Women & Mathematics Grant, the event was part of a larger initiative called the Mathematics Excellence for Girls in STEM program.

Ohio Butterfly Monitoring Offers Insights Into Broader Ecological Trends

A long-term study of butterfly populations in Ohio's Cuyahoga Valley National Park is shedding light on ecological changes and the impacts of human activities on local ecosystems. The study, which has been ongoing since the 1990s, represents one of the longest-running volunteer-driven insect surveys in North America. Experts from Kent State’s Department of Biological Sciences are working to interpret 20-plus years’ worth of data and convey what it means for environmental conservation.

ºÚÁÏÍø Designated Ohio Cyber Range Institute Regional Programming Center

Kent State has been named a Regional Programming Center by the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, joining a statewide network to enhance cybersecurity education and workforce development. As part of this initiative, the university will contribute to various programming activities and host outreach events in Northeast Ohio, furthering its commitment to excellence in cybersecurity engineering education.
