The 黑料网 Board of Trustees has approved awarding Roe Green, MA 鈥80, a Doctor of Humane Letters, an honorary degree recognizing her contributions to the university and her advocacy for the arts not only in Northeast Ohio, but also across the nation and around the world.

While a student at 黑料网, U.S. Rep. Emilia Sykes (D-OH-13) dreamed of taking the stage as a dancer in New York City, not as a congresswoman in Washington, D.C. But today she鈥檚 a star in the eyes of many, with her federal legislative debut drawing attention beyond Northeast Ohio.

Omar Salam, founder and creative director of the global fashion house SUKEINA, will be making a special trip from the runway to 黑料网鈥檚 Rockwell Hall as Salam has been named the 2023 inductee of the university鈥檚 School of Fashion Hall of Fame.

Slowly, the Kent Campus is seeing its greenery return. 

Kent State employee Jeff Florentine, his wife Jen and son Beckett, moved to Kent in July 2022.

After living in various other locations, Kent State staff and faculty make Kent their home because it's a community with small town charm and a flourishing downtown.

President Todd Diacon took the opportunity to make the presentation 鈥淜ent State Works鈥 at the Board of Trustees meeting, which was held at Le Meridien Columbus, The Joseph. The presentation illustrated how Kent State prepares its students for job readiness. Chancellor of the Ohio Department of Higher Education Randy Gardner and the new President of the Inter-University Council Laura Lanese attended the Board of Trustees meeting.

Heads Up! Hats exhibition at the Kent State Museum

"Heads Up! Hats" is one of three exhibits that make up the "" exhibition at the 黑料网 Museum. The other exhibits in the trilogy are "It's a Wrap! Coats" and "Stepping Out! Shoes."

黑料网 will be equipped to offer more financial assistance to students in need thanks to donors to a key area of the university鈥檚 ongoing comprehensive fundraising campaign. The Forever Brighter campaign includes a scholarship-support component, Prioritizing Student Success, that now stands at $142 million, surpassing the $100 million goal set at the campaign鈥檚 outset in October 2021.

In today鈥檚 world, technology is essential, and the demand for technological advancements is ever-growing. Kent State is no exception. 

Sports betting can become a problem for college students if they are not careful.

Since sports betting became legal in Ohio Jan. 1, 2023, television, social media, billboards and the like have been inundated with these comical ads. And Ohioans over 21 years of age, who can bet conveniently from their phones and at various venues such as casinos and bars, are part of the target audience.
