“She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms” Recognized by the BroadwayWorld 2021 Cleveland Awards

The School of Theatre and Dance is proud to announce that She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms was recognized by the BroadwayWorld 2021 Cleveland Awards in multiple categories.

The 2021 Regional Awards honor productions which had their first performance between October 1, 2020 through September 30, 2021.

Working to find innovative and creative ways to bring performance and design to life amidst a global pandemic, the School of Theatre and Dance performed a LIVE virtual production of Qui Nguyen's She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms. Performances were held March 31 – April 2, 2021.

Congratulations to assistant professor Paul Hurley who was recognized for Best Direction of a Play and Best Editing of a Stream for his work on She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms.  

Congratulations to Isabella Torres who was recognized as Best Performer In a Streaming Play for her role in She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms.

Additionally, She Kills Monsters: Virtual Realms  was recognized with the award for Best Streaming Play. 

About the BroadwayWorld Regional Awards:

The BroadwayWorld Regional Awards are the largest theatre audience awards, with over 100 cities worldwide participating. 

Streaming productions were eligible this year in the categories designated as such. This year BroadwayWorld also enabled audiences to vote on which theatres they are most excited to return to, and which productions they are most excited to see.
