Alumnus Joseph Napier co-founded a local non-profit organization called the Youngstown Creative Collective that helps raise awareness for small businesses in the inner city of Youngstown.
Napier told WKBN that he realized how important it is to engage with the community while attending Kent State and being part of student organizations, and he wanted to bring that mentality back to Youngstown.
鈥淓arly on, I had the want to give back and the best way I could was helping organizations promote and market themselves the right way,鈥 Napier told WKBN.
The Youngstown Creative Collective鈥檚 goal is for members to build strong relationships with one another in the community, because networking is key.
