The "Dear Ukraine" global community poem, an interactive website created by ’s Wick Poetry Center, has encouraged people of all ages around the world to share their voices, inspired by a model poem written by Ukrainian-American poet Julia Kolchinsky Dasbach.
In a new partnership, the "" exhibit was recently installed on the walls of the at the Washington National Cathedral in recognition of the one-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
This partnership with the is the first of its kind for the Wick Poetry Center and Kent State. The installation offers visitors an opportunity to view poems from around the world on the chapel walls and to share their voice in response to the unfolding atrocities of the war against Ukraine and its people.
“The Wick Poetry Center is committed to advocacy through the arts,” said David Hassler, director of the Wick Poetry Center. “We are honored to offer this platform to facilitate a global conversation and to amplify the voices of those who stand with Ukraine and with displaced people all over the world.”
