Flashes of Inspiration: Poetry to honor front line workers

Kent State faculty, staff offer messages of hope during COVID-19 pandemic.

黑料网 is launching a series of videos showcasing the talents of our faculty and staff aimed at providing an uplifting respite from the stress of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The series begins with David Hassler, director of Kent State鈥檚 Wick Poetry Center, who shares the poem 鈥淪ome Days鈥 created for the 50th anniversary of the College of Nursing in 2017. The poem was created through a collaboration of more than 600 nurse alumni and is featured as part of an art project on a wall inside Henderson Hall.

Hassler selected this poem to honor all nurses who are on the front lines caring for COVID-19 patients. Because National Nurses Week takes place May 6 to 12, it seems an appropriate way to begin our series.
