Whether they’re looking for a quick bite or a new culinary experience, students and university employees alike are excited to sample some local flavor during the spring Community Food Truck Series.
Rain or shine, the Community Food Truck Series will take place on Risman Plaza every Wednesday through the month of April from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. There, the university will host a variety of food trucks from local Kent businesses, including Daisy Pops, Brooks BBQ, Roll Call Burgers & Fries, Kent State’s Fork in the Road and more.
The series offers students and faculty the chance to snag a convenient, delicious meal as they make their way across campus.
The promise of a "hot burger" drew Keith Allen, pipe fitter for University Facilities Management, out of his truck and into the growing line at Fork in the Road.
If convenience isn’t enough to attract students and faculty, the tantalizing smells of diverse cuisine are working overtime to draw them in.
After seeing and smelling food trucks on the way into campus, sophomore music major Brianna Knapp stopped by the Brooks BBQ truck to try something new.
“I was excited to get to sample more food from different cultures and more local restaurants, as well, without having to go downtown,” Knapp said.
The month of April is getting a whole lot tastier at the Community Food Truck Series on Risman Plaza.
