For Fashion Merchandising, the school has been rated #4 Nationally (top 3 percent of schools considered), #4 Nationally among public schools and colleges (top percent of schools considered), and #2 in the Midwest.
“We are extremely proud that the Kent State Fashion School continues to be recognized as one of the top schools in the nation with the release of the Fashion-Schools.org rankings,” said Kim Hahn, Ph.D., professor and interim director of the school. “This is a great testament of our amazing collection of faculty and staff who are nationally and internationally recognized scholars and educators. It also demonstrates a commitment to inspiring creative and resourceful fashion leaders, and we look forward to representing continued excellence in the field to support a globally-active industry and focused educational platform for our diverse and international students.”
The school was founded in 1983 and boasts a current enrollment of nearly 2,000 students who are educated across three locations including Rockwell Hall on the Kent Campus, the university’s New York City studio located in the Garment District, and at Kent State’s Florence Campus in Italy.
Students enrolled in the Fashion School are also offered study-away opportunities in Paris, London, Germany, South Korea, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. Approximately 90 percent of the school’s graduates find employment in their field in less than a year, and more than 3,000 alumni can be found throughout the industry working for the world’s most recognized brands.
