A Cleveland native, Haoui favors Ohio when creating content. Why Kent State, though? Haoui’s videographer, Alexander Soas, said it is because of the university’s welcoming atmosphere and the great personalities of the students.
Haoui’s videos include series such as “S’mores with Sisters,” and videos where he asks students on various college campuses random questions about school, social topics, dating and living life in one’s late teens and early 20s.
Haoui previously visited Kent State in December of 2022. In discussing plans for his next tour, Haoui and Soas agreed that they had to return to Kent State.
“We started by looking at the biggest college campuses in Ohio, and because we came here last year and got great feedback, we decided to showcase the sororities,” Soas said, regarding this trip.
So, in October, Haoui and Soas filmed with Kent State chapters of Delta Zeta and Alpha Xi Delta for a series on his TikTok account called “S’mores with Sisters.” The content involves a light-hearted PJ party around a bonfire while Haoui asks questions about the sorority chapters. Sisters taught him their sororities’ hand signs, and Haoui even learned and participated in their chants.
Delta Zeta and Alpha Xi Delta stood out to Haoui and Soas for “S’mores with Sisters” because of the engaging social media content the sororities have previously posted.
“These chapters are filled with kind-hearted women who are also very funny and have great personalities, so we knew right away they would be perfect fits,” Haoui said.
“Will this make people laugh?” is the guiding principle of the duo. Given that he has proven that, yes, he can indeed make people laugh, Haoui’s account has more than 60,000 followers and more than 2 million likes.
