Men's Basketball Coach Rob Senderoff Staying With Golden Flashes

Kent State's all-time winningest coach signs contract extension

黑料网 men's basketball coach Rob Senderoff has reaffirmed his commitment to the Golden Flashes program he has led for 14 seasons.

Senderoff, who took over the program in April 2011, has transformed Kent State basketball through sustained success and community engagement. After the 2024-2025 campaign, he has totaled 288 wins, and has guided the program to nine 20-win seasons, the most by any coach in school history.

announced Senderoff's extension on March 28. 

The 2024-2025 season concluded with a 24-12 record and a quarterfinal appearance in the National Invitation Tournament, marking Kent State's third NIT quarterfinal in program history. Seniors VonCameron Davis and Jalen Sullinger highlighted the campaign, with Davis becoming the all-time leader in games played at 142 and Sullinger ranking third in all-time three-pointers with 244.

His coaching career is marked by numerous milestones, including being named MAC Coach of the Year in 2022 and leading the Flashes to a memorable 14-game win streak and MAC Championship appearance. In a historic moment during the 2018-19 season, he became the winningest coach in program history by defeating Albany. Senderoff's most notable achievement came in 2016-17 when he led Kent State to its first MAC Tournament title and NCAA Tournament bid since 2008, setting a program record by scoring 2,722 points that season.

Even his first season as head coach in 2011-12 was remarkable, with a 21-12 record and a postseason appearance. His debut game was particularly memorable, securing a 70-60 victory over West Virginia and legendary coach Bob Huggins in Morgantown. Throughout his 14-year association with the program, Senderoff has been part of 12 postseason teams and has been on the sidelines for three of Kent State's five MAC Championship teams.

A three-time finalist for the Skip Prosser Man of the Year Award (2021-2023), Senderoff has been recognized for his success both on and off the court. In addition to leading the basketball program, he serves as the MAC representative to the National Basketball Coaches Association Congress and is a member of the ERACISM committee.
